Pupillin, Jura, France
A great talent of the Jura is Philippe Bornard, who inherited vines from his father, who was selling to co-ops only at the time. It was Philippe who decided to start making and bottling his own wines, establishing his Domaine - 6 hectares of 30-year old vines - in the quaint commune of Pupillin. He has recently retired and his talented son Tony has now taken over the operation. In 2107 the Bornard’s vineyards were hit by a massive frost and they lost 85% of their crops. This is why father and son combined all their Chardonnay and Ploussard into one cuvée for each grape variety: Au Fil des Générations label was born. The design pays homage to the people who had contributed in the past - including Philippe, his father and grandfather - and to use a vintage illustration made by Philippe’s daughter.
