Ten years back in Adelaide, a motley crew of winemakers formed Natural Selection Theory. The group comprised Sydney artist Sam Hughes, Adelaide Hills-based Anton van Klopper and James Erskine and Barossa Winegrower Tom Shobbrook. They bucked conventional methods for a more stripped-down approach to viniculture, to make a product with as little intervention as possible. They also started growing a community of more thoughtful vignerons who wanted to portray what Australia really tastes like, one bottle at a time. Together, we will taste different wines from the winemakers who started this natural wine revolution to get a sense of what the Australian wine scene is now.
