Originally from Burgundy, Chardonnay has a great capacity of adaptation to a wide variety of climates, soils and viticultural contexts that has allowed it to become the most widely cultivated white grape variety.
But guess what?! No classic Burgundy in this box, but different Chardos from around the World. In Loire Valley’s cool climate, for example, Chardonnay turns out more crispy, lively and mineral. While in Australia and New Zealand’s warmer climates, its gives richer flavours, with ripe fruit and tropical aromas. In moderate climates like South Africa, it results into fleshy and more supple wines.
