From Muscadet to Sancerre, the Loire River stretches for around a thousand kilometres and, with its tributaries, forms one of France’s top winemaking regions - the Loire Valley. Located on the western part of France, the Loire Valley has numerous appellations, different wine style and grapes. Let's discover more about Montlouis-sur-Loire AOC with Lise & Bertrand from Domaine Jousset.
Lise and Bertrand set in Montlouis-sur-Loire in 2003 and committed to biodynamic viticulture since. They moved to the left bank of the Loire to seek the freedom and reasonable cost of land that Touraine afforded to aspiring vignerons.
The vineyards are spread across 25 parcels with vines ranging from 30 to 130 years for the oldest vines, with even some franc de pieds! After giving up some parcels in the last year due to climatic conditions, they nowadays farm 7.5 hectares.
