Domaine PO Bonhomme

Loire Valley, France

This Domaine is the continuation and evolution of the now defunct Puzelat-Bonhomme négociant project. Pierre Olivier Bonhomme first started as an apprentice at Clos du Tue-Boeuf with Thierry and Jean-Marie Puzelat. Recognizing Pierre Olivier’s talent through the years, Thierry ventured into a négoce business with Pierre Olivier. As Thierry went back to Clos du Tue-Boeuf, Pierre-Olivier continued the project and is now farming his own vines.

The methods in the vineyard and winery are a dedication to organic farming, the recognition of indigenous grape varieties and careful vinification without additives to make distinctive hand-crafted wines. He strives to save endangered historic grape varieties like Menu Pineau, Fié Gris, Chardonnay Musqué and Pinot Meunier. Although they started as a Négociant, they now farm several plots for themselves.
